Day 24 Part 4 Page 8

“Chel, that thing you ran a spear through was another mimic.  It was not Trasik.”  Riley went back to consoling Chel. “Oh.”  Chel’s face relaxed with relief. “The ADC set all of this up and they made a huge mistake in doing so!”  Riley went on excitedly.  A huge toothy grin spread over his face.  “They’re trying to cover up this entire situation as we speak!” “They will pay for this.  If they’ve harmed my daughter in any way.”  Kade suddenly announced with a viciousness that startled everyone.  This was Trasik they were talking about and hearing someone being protective of her for all involved parties was shocking.

  1. He’s a father, all right!

  2. You know, for such a Papa Bear, he doesn’t seem all that put out by the fact that Chel thought she had murdered Trasik and had meant to do so.

    1. I was just thinking that same thing. And what’s more, if Trasik’s behavior throughout the storyline can NOT be attributed to ADC mimics, why the devil is he so angered by her disappearance? Good riddance, I say; he’s well rid of her. They all are.

      1. There some difference in doing something in self-defense, and doing something to control others.

      2. Well, even if she is an awful, jealous person, she is his daughter still, and it’s not unreasonable for him to still love her.

  3. FWIW how long has the mimic been in place?

  4. Is it wrong to hope that the ADC has harmed a hair or two on Trasik’s head so that they WILL get Kade’s wrath brought down upon them? 😉

    1. No. I am hoping this in many ways with large amounts(of hope – what did you think I was hoping Trasik would get hurt? :D).

      1. Your circular logic and writing confuse me!

I’m really just hoping that the ADC gets what is coming to it. I’d rather not see any harm come to Trasik in spite of how much of a spoiled selfish brat that she’s been.

  5. I notice Vic is less surprised and he’s looking at Chel. He knows where Riley’s dad is coming from. Yay for protective parents! 😀

  6. I wonder how long the “Trasik” we know has been a mimic?

I’m glad Trasik is alive – which is weird, because I was very vocally hoping she’d spontaneously combust not long ago. Part of it is for Chel’s sake – she seemed pretty torn up about the whole ‘spear’ thing. But part of it is for Trasik’s sake. It looks like she only backed down because her family pressured her into it… but she still backed down. Maybe I’m being too optimistic here, but it’d be nice to see her turn her life around.

  7. OH! So the real Trasik agreed to get married and give up the game. The ADC, figuring she was a good way to get Lexx out of the way, weren’t too pleased by this and kidnapped/distracted her, putting a mimic in her place. Or something. The Alien Dice plot is always thickening.

  8. Do not mess with happy fun Littan’s daughter.

  9. I love the expressions in the third panel.

  10. Vic looks like “You did what with a spear!?” at Chel. xD

  11. Huh… Completely random thought. Technically that mimic was breaking the rules of the Game. If she’s not Trasik, it’s not her home so she shouldn’t have been able to roll 2 Master Dice against Lexx.

  12. Just got finished re-reading from Day 19~ish…this has been quite a trip. Couple things occurred to me – one – Her dice (and Riley’s) couldn’t tell that the mimic wasn’t Trasick, which is interestingly telling (ie – the whole “I am an evil villain” act was close enough to her standard behavior that none of them noticed a difference, or that she has so little interaction with them that they couldn’t tell). Secondly, Trasick doesn’t use the relay often – I have to assume that a mimic’s programmed mind would show up over the relay somehow, but no one notice a drop in comm signals, so, she must not use it often. Finally, we had a lot of legal speculation going on about how the ADC would react to various breaches in rules – I think that it can be safely said that the ADC had a crew of lawyers literally stashed nearby to start invoking legal efforts post fight, briefed for almost every contingency, given that ADC had set up every cheat involved. Riley’s mama is going to need to do some serious house cleaning.

  13. Another mimic?

Oh, hmm, the one on the beach that turned out to be an assassin in disguise — was that the first mimic?
