Day 25 Part 1 Page 3

Chel shifted her gaze down, wanting to avoid her father’s eyes for the moment.  He went on, “Lexx is in a bad situation right now, but that doesn’t mean it will always be that way.” “He could die.”  Chel ventured with considerably less strength. “Yes, but he could also live, which I’ve heard he’s good at doing,”  Vic smiled encouragingly, “Those creatures of his have nothing but good things to say about him.” On the other side of a thin privacy wall separating their private nook from the next one, Zaile sat quietly, listening.  He had not intended to overhear their conversation, but seeking to be alone in his thoughts had placed him in the convenient position to hear them.  He considered getting up and leaving, but didn’t want to risk being seen sneaking away as though he had been spying on them in purpose.  Instead, he remained sitting, reading over the news on the plate in his hands and drinking a particularly strong and tasty drink that Damian had given him. “Did you ever think that maybe Lexx does have good things happening that outweigh the bad, but you’re looking at it only through your eyes and not his?”  Vic proposed the question to Chel.

  1. Aha! It *was* him.

  2. Something that even Lexx’s brother can think about.

Now how will he interpret it?

  3. Ah the eaves dropper who is convicted by what he hears. Classic. 🙂

  4. I love the fact that he’s FORCED to listen in, otherwise they know he’s listening.. although he was sitting there before they were. 😀
