“We will want you to submit to a few tests.” Vic went on.
“You aren’t going to hurt Lexx, right?” Chel’s mind immediately conjured up images of Lexx being involved in an alien autopsy type situation. She pushed the images away quickly, but they still lingered in the back of her thoughts.
“Mostly noninvasive, standard tests.” Vic smiled at his daughter in a reassuring way.
“Mostly?” Chel gave her father a quizzical look.
“I’m sitting right here.” Lexx whispered uncomfortably.
“Now you know how I feel.” Chel smiled at Lexx, suddenly amused at the turn in conversation.

Chel’s look and attitude in panel 2 is just great! She is really maturing up and becoming a lot more assertive than before, and details like the new haircut kinda make the change even more apparent.

There is pretty much NOTHING likeable about Vic.

Now that’s odd. Vic is actually one of my favorite characters in Alien Dice.
As harsh as Vic is, he’s honest with Lexx and hasn’t lied to Lexx yet AND he’s actually letting Lexx see Chel again. Some Father’s would greet their daughters attacker with a shotgun and a “Get Off My Lawn!” regardless of the circumstances.
Also, for a leader of a secret alien contact/control agency, he’s been a Reasonable Authority Figure in spite of his daughter’s seeming kidnapping and what could be construed as a planetary invasion.
