Lexx waited until he was sure Victor and Chel could not here him. He turned and tore into Zaile, “Why are you here? What did you say?”
“I’m your brother and I told them enough.” Zaile played down Lexx’s paranoia with a calm tone and a wave of his hand.
“But you hate me.” Lexx’s short wings fluttered behind him in agitation and confusion.
“No. I don’t.” Zaile sniffed condescendingly. “I still don’t understand why everyone adores you and It disgusts me, but I don’t hate you.” He may have meant well, but his cool tone wiped away the sincerity of his words.
