Day 26 Part 2 Page 5

“Dad, I told you, Lexx is my friend.” Chel waved her arms in exasperation at her father once they were on the balcony. “Why are you threatening him?” Victor smiled, a smile that only a mischievous father can manage. “Let’s see. He’s a young, mostly human male. He loves you. His friends like to him. And he loves you.” “Dad, stop saying that.” Chel did not appreciate the teasing while she was trying to be serious. She tried to push away exactly what her father had said, but her face had quickly turned an uncontrollable shade of red.

  1. Isn’t it kinda the job of a father to scare the shit out of his daughter’s boyfriends? You know, just to make sure nothing…unfortunate happens to the two of them. At least most fathers seem to THINK that’s their job 🙂

    1. No I can attest it is their job. A job that can bring much pleasure mwahaha!

    2. This is exactly a fathers job. If I can scare him out of marrying my daughter… He wasn’t man enough to marry my daughter.

Man up, tell me you’re gonna date her anyway, and BAM, you’re my favorite son-in-law.

  2. If you’ve raised your daughters right, you don’t have to threaten their boyfriends, thank you very much. They are self-possessed young women who know what they do and don’t want and aren’t about to let some slick talker change them.

    1. Being raised right helps, but it’s no substitute for experience! Besides, what’s the harm in double-checking his devotion to her? 🙂

  3. And also, he’s a young mostly human male in love with you.

  4. Let’s see… A, B, A, C. Did I mention A?
    Yup. He’s a dad with a daughter.

  5. Do I detect some blushing!? 😀

  6. What I see is someone acting like an over-protective father in order to cover up the fact that he has a job to do.

  7. I don’t think you meant to say, “His friends like to him.”

  8. Why does it matter if his friends lie to him?
