Nearby, Victor led his daughter, Lexx, and the dice through a long sealed in corridor. There were small screens on the walls at regular intervals, directing them through intersections. Vic had been specific about exactly where they were to gate to. They had walked into a completely barren room with half a dozen exits. It was well lit and clean, like a hospital hallway. They had walked through various sealed in hallways without any windows or anything to indicate where they were for over an hour. There were a lot of ramps going down and Chel had to wonder just how deep under the Earth they were going.
Finally, they reached a glassed in area that looked out over hallways with people busily walking through them. Occasionally, one of the scientists would glance through the glass or come up and watch them pass for a few minutes before going on to wherever they were going. They were still separated from them and Victor had to explain to Swiftpaw for the hundredth time that they were being quarantined. And for the hundredth time, Lexx grumbled something about the gate process destroying all harmful bacteria and viruses, coming and going.
The group entered a larger area of the corridor where a larger screen had a note that this was the briefing area. On the other side of the glass, a small group of men and women in white lab coats was watching them.
Victor pulled Chel and Lexx aside and then pointed to the dice. “These four creatures are Stealth, Serenity, Sirius, and Swiftpaw.” Victor spoke to the scientists, not specifying which animal was which, more concerned with pointing out that they were individuals and they had names and should be addressed by them. “They speak and can answer questions on their own.” Gleeful grins broke out among the scientists, each one hoping to get to talk to the alien creatures. “Treat them respectfully.”

Seems like Sirius and Stealth are getting along a little better. Though Stealth still looks troubled.
A lot of test and questions I could see the scientist here doing are the ones that test their intelligence and the way they think and see things. In that, it’s kind of funny to think a lot of people might react to them like they’re the worlds cutest and smartest pets.
Of course I could see a few Dice might get a little patronized by that and letting a few scientists know that in rather shockingly intelligent ways.

I imagine it must be rather interesting to discover you get to interview your own cat about an alien what-ever-the-heck-thing this is.
