Vic gave Lexx a sheepish look, fully understanding where he might have gotten that idea, even if it wasn’t entirely intentional. Ok, maybe it was a little intentional, but didn’t need to be said.
“He’s just being a dad, Lexx,” Chel finally got Lexx’s focus on her. “He doesn’t want that. He’s just afraid you’re going to hurt me, but we both know that’s not going to happen.”
A broad smile broke onto Lexx’s face, illuminating it with a sudden burst of joy that clearly broke through in his words. “I love you.” Chel couldn’t help but smile back. Vic was mildly annoyed, but it got Lexx into a better mood, where he could be rationalized with in a less heated conversation. He was going to have to think carefully about what he was going to say next.
