The land whale ignored Lexx and a stream of bubbles rolled lazily out of its mouth.  The water lapped serenely around its immense body, which was heaving slowly in relaxed breathing.  It was napping?

Lexx stared at the creature incredulously, then at his opponent’s floating pod.  Seelie wasn’t even observing the match or paying attention to his dice.  Instead, he was casually flipping through screens on a small dataplate.

What was going on?

Much further away, someone else was asking herself that very question, over, and over, and over again.  Hundreds of millions of observers were watching the feed, anxiously awaiting for the battle to begin, but none were as eager as Andisel.

Andisel clicked her freshly manicured nails on the table in front of her.  The clacking was steadily increasing in temp with each passing moment.

“What is going on?”  Andisel glared at the screen, which was split into four quadrants.  Each one showed a different angle of the non event.  “This is supposed to be a bloodbath!  Why isn’t there any fighting?!”  The angry rishan’s gaze drifted to the viewer numbers scrolling down one side of the screen.  The numbers were steady, but how patient would the viewers be?
