“We’ll discuss this later, Lexx.” Victor frowned in Lexx’s direction, not wanting to have any sort of conversation about who was taking care of Maenae in front of her.
Mel had other ideas. She walked around Vic to look at Maenae, completely fascinated by the alien child.
“Aren’t you cute!” Mel suddenly beamed, reaching out to touch the little girl. Maenae immediately turned and smiled happily at Mel.
“Mel, now wait a minute.” Victor grimaced, realizing he might possibly be losing his grasp on this very serious situation.

Actually, that might not be a bad idea, it would provide a safe place for the kids rescued from ADC.
