"We're just going for a short ride." Victor pushed through the bar's door and stepped out onto a few rough concrete steps. Riley waited for them to turn the corner into the vacant parking lot. Odd. Riley felt the hair along the back of his neck prickle. There were other humans out there. Somewhere. They had been waiting for him. "A few small tests and then we'll let you go. We are not going to hurt you." Victor didn't sound dangerous, but Riley had a clear sensation that he WAS in danger. "Sorry," Riley shifted on one fit, grabbing the short chain that bound the cuffs together. He twisted it while jerking toward himself with his left hand. The metal cuff dug into his wrist in a brief moment of pain before the chain snapped. "But that is not on my schedule for tonight." Riley calmly stepped in front of Vic, hitting him in the chest with his elbow sharply and glaring at him. "And just to be clear on this in the future,…" Riley hissed in a threatening tone, "I believe you have three children. Their names are Chel, Andrea and Kalvin. You live about 300 miles from here. I know exactly where." The littan hoped the statement would lead Victor to believe that he could read his mind and avoid coming after him again. Victor unfortunately,… took it exactly for what it sounded like at first. A threat. He glared at the alien. Heat welled up within him as each of his children's names were spoken by his fanged adversary. But Victor was a controlled man and held back his natural instinct. After all, every move Riley made had clearly been thought out to not cause him any harm. This alien could clearly hurt him if he wanted to. Still, the very thought that private information that even his own coworkers did not know was known to an alien angered him.
