"Lexx is a naïve fool." Zaile snorted. "Yes. Yes, he is." Kane's gaze drifted aside as though an idea had just caught her attention. "I could do a lot of damage." "Stay out of my business, Kane." "What's it worth to you?" "Your life?" "Oh come now, how would murder look on your records!" "I'm warning you …" The conversation was quick and terse on Zaile's side. Kane's cheery tone was laced with poison. "What if I tell Lexx who you are and about our littlest sister? Hmmmm?" That was the statement that had led Zaile to speak to her. What did she know? She could be bluffing. "What do you think he would do if he knew?" The furrows on Zaile's brow deepened. What would Lexx do? Judging by the reports, there were many possible things Lexx might do. All of them would get in Zaile's way. Zaile had a bet riding on Lexx. If Lexx won, Zaile would claim their sister without Lexx knowing anything about it. She would be worthless to the ADC in that event anyway. If Lexx lost, he would lose the girl because they would put her into play to ride on her older brother's popularity. Lexx knew nothing of his youngest sister and wouldn't know as long as Zaile could help it.

  1. Oh, get a room already. Hard to believe that Lexx stems from THAT family, honestly.

    1. You really have to squint, but they *do* have some shared traits. Kane shares Lexx’s ruthlessness… but unlike Lexx, who keeps that part of himself confined to life-or-death combat, Kane treats the world as her field of combat and everyone as an enemy. She’s basically a sucking void when it comes to positive traits. Zalie and Lexx are a lot more similar, in my opinion. They’re both a bit arrogant and high-handed (okay, Lexx is a little and Zalie is a lot) and they both can be selfish and self-centered… in Lexx’s case, it’s because if he doesn’t look out for himself no one else will, and he’s terrified of caring about other people, because that means they can hurt him. Zalie, as far as I can tell, has been spoiled rotten, and has abandonment issues from being given up for adoption.
