"Fine. It will be done." Zaile conceded. It wasn't really that expensive for him. He just didn't like the idea of being in a situation where he was essentially being blackmailed. Zaile was good about not putting himself in such situations. This time, there wasn't a way to avoid it. "You will leave Lexx alone permanently the moment you step into that ship."
"Agreed." Kane shrugged. She didn't have any real ties to Lexx. He may have been happy to know he had a sister, but she had never really cared about her siblings,… until it benefited her. "I'll be back in six hours to check on your progress. End trans."
Zaile sat in darkness as the screen flickered off. He sighed and leaned forward, wiping a bloody hand across his forehead. Zaile was now fully aware of just how much Riley helped him and handled business like this. Zaile did things strictly by the book and handled business in a different way than Riley did. What little business he had. The majority of his time was spent amusing himself.
It was Riley who made the deals and had the contacts. Zaile just enjoyed the perks of the things he would arrange. There was also the fact that Zaile did consider Riley a good friend.
What had he done?
"I need Riley." Zaile admitted to himself.
Well, what had he done indeed? He exiled him over a girl he doesn’t even love, out of petty vanity…well, I don’t think Riley is one to bear grudges…let him have the girl and ask him for forgiveness.
