"Go on." Mel kept her voice calm and even. She had managed to do what so many mothers are good at. Completely change the subject directed at her, while pulling Chel back around to what she wanted to talk about. "Three weeks ago -" Chel sighed. Kip whispered something, interrupting Chel's train of thought as she tried to listen to what he was saying. "You didn't tell me what you do!" Chel suddenly spouted, repeating what Kip had said. This was going to be a long evening.
