“And what is their being here going to accomplish?” Lexx was skeptical. He looked over his shoulder at Chel. Every part of him was urging him to flee. The only thing that kept him talking was working up to asking Chel a question.
Would she come with him?
“It buys you time, so you can finish this game and leave. The dice you haven’t caught yet are causing a lot of problems and they need you right now.” Chel explained quickly. She knew that even though she had Lexx’s attention, she wasn’t going to be able to keep it. His moods were shifting before her eyes and she was having a difficult time predicting where they were going. “As soon as you’re done, you have to leave. They will come after you.”
