Lexx was pushed out of the room and not a word was spoken to Chel. She looked on helplessly. The doctors would be able to do more for Lexx than she could and at the moment, she couldn’t hide the sensation that what looked like Lexx and what really was Lexx, had been in her with room with an obvious intention to hurt her. If Serenity had not been there, what would had happened? But it wasn’t Lexx. She was sure of it. It just wasn’t him. Victor had other thoughts in mind, but kept his mouth shut. As far as he concerned, this conversation was over before it began and he avoided any but the briefest of glances at Lexx. When he did look, he could not disguise his loathing for the boy and the position he had put him in. The floating bed was pushed away and Stealth trotted quickly past them with her multiple tails swishing in annoyed short flicks behind her. Riley joined them with a troubled look on his face. “Please don’t look at him like that.” Riley sighed. “It’s not his fault.” Vic gave him a questioning gaze while Chel didn’t even want to dare to hope Riley had an answer that would ease her father’s concerns.

  1. Somehow I don’t think Vic is going to accept “Apparently he has multiple personalities, and Stealth didn’t bother to tell us until AFTER he became a danger to himself and others. Chel’s going to have to REALLY fight for her right to stay, IF she even chooses to do so.

    1. Well, now they know there’s a problem. And chances are such that if someone does hear their message and decides to help, they’ll know what to do about that too!

But, yeah. Vic’s gonna need a lot of reassurance, not the least of which is the various Dice promising to look out for Chel.

Plus, this only happened because of the pain meds and severe pain Lexx is in. Which, if the destructive nanotech gets fixed, won’t be a problem anymore.

      1. Problem with Vic and the Dice is…well, remember why Vic got involved in this mess to begin with. Dice have been rampaging all over the planet. Property has been destroyed, people have been killed. He also just witnessed two dice – one of whom he’s likely had established as “one of the sweetest you’ll ever meet,” and the other his daughter has basically already stated that she plans to adopt should things go South – MAULING the being established as their owner. That doesn’t go over well with dogs, let alone with creatures he understands to be sentient. He won’t necessarily trust the Dice’s word.

Also, does Vic know about Chel’s relay yet? ‘Cause I can see that conversation going REAL well right now. “Yeah, daddy, it’s okay! I’ll be able to tell if Lexx starts to loose control again, the same way I knew something was wrong this time. I’ll feel it in his emotions. Oh, no, not exactly empathy… you see, I kind of have alien technology irreversibly implanted in my brain. No, it’s perfectly safe…well, it could have killed me, but it didn’t…and if I’m not on guard, other aliens COULD use it to manipulate me…but all that means is I can’t get distracted. Well, yeah I guess having the man I love fighting for his life could be a bit distracting…”

  2. I think vic will take it a little better. Multiple Personality Syndrome does happen, and the fact that it’s a program in his head makes it easier to take, because there’s the possibility of it being fixed/removed. And, judging by the technology Vic has already seen he could be made to believe there really is a bad code in Lexx’s head. (Sorry for text heavyness)
