“In body, yes, but he’s unconscious and in a lot of pain.” Riley began explaining as quickly and clearly as he could. “There is no physical way possible that he can even stand in his condition. I’m not sure if I can fully explain what Stealth told me, but it’s not Lexx. It’s something else that was in control.” Riley trailed off, realizing his explanation might not be enough for Vic when the human just stared at him, as every word left his mouth, with an unchanging expression. -------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a bonus update, because it was so small.. that I didn't count as an extra. :D - Tiff

  1. Nice writing in that last sentence.

  2. This still won’t sit well with Vic. The fact that Lex had no control already is bothering him.

I almost wonder if this was the intention of whatever was controlling Lex? If he can get Chel away from Lex than he’ll(Lex) be crushed.

    1. The “Bad Code”, which was controlling Lexx, intended to do horrible things to Chel to keep Lexx from wanting to face life. If he’d succeeded, Lexx would probably have gone catatonic, leaving the destructive and evil Glitch in Lexx’ programming in control.

Ultimately, this serves to highlight a problem that hadn’t been known before, and to cheese off Vic, who is worried about his daughter.

  3. A lack of understanding that only serves to illustrate just how far inferior the intellect of Chel’s father truly is when compared to the beings he is so keen on learning more about.

  4. When can he just get accidentally sucked out an airlock so the interesting parts of the story continue and the after-school special on difficult family interactions can end?

  5. what happened to the next update? i saw it for like an hour and then it vanished.

  6. Y’know, people give Victor a lot of crap, and I can understand. He *is* a bit of a jerk at times, but after having read/watched a lot of stories and movies where the parents are either dead or completely disinterested to stop them from interfering with the plot, it’s actually really nice to see a parental figure actually trying to do a good job and protect their kid from the alien that might actually be trying to kill/rape her.

    1. It’s not just that he’s ‘a bit of a jerk’ sometimes, it’s that he tries to enforce an inordinate amount of control over the life of his ADULT daughter; it borders on misogynist. Yes, she still lives in his house, but she’s in college, she’s a big girl, and she could quite easily pick up and move out of his house if he gets too pushy. I just hope SHE understands that.

      1. THANK YOU! That is exactly what I have been trying to say.
        Brohoof, man. 🙂
