“You said you know her heart.” Riley spoke gently.
“Don’t give up.” Lexx closed his eyes and muttered. It was what she would say. She was his perpetual cheerleader, even when he tried to push her aside. It was an annoying trait and one that astounded him at the same time.
“It’s going to work out, Lexx.” Riley patted Lexx’s shoulder in an encouraging manner. “If you quit .. there’s no more hope.”
“I’m tired of fighting, Riley.” Lexx admitted. “It’s been my entire life.” He was tired, physically and mentally. For her, he would push himself to the extent of his abilities and further if he had to.
“You just need to rest.” Riley returned to his attempt to persuade Lexx to stop and recover himself.
