Hours later Chel stared out at space from a small ornate bar that was placed facing a large viewscreen. While large areas of the ship really did face out into space with massive transparent walls, Chel was fully aware this was not one of those. Right now, it was displaying a section of space that the wall was facing and Chel was fascinated by what she was viewing. Maelinn had walked her past the bar when Chel saw it the first time. A ship of intricate and very alien design had zipped past their own ship trailing a blast of golden sparkles that flickered brilliantly in space then faded quickly. It caught Chel’s attention immediately. She dressed quickly when an outfit arrived a few minutes later. Maelinn had suggested that she and Victor try to get some sleep in one of the spare bedrooms, but Chel fought a yawn and asked for a drink instead. Maelinn was more than agreeable and ordered a breakfast meal service to be brought in. Chel sat at the bar and watched as ship after ship passed by with a trail of brightly colored lights behind them. None of the ships stayed more than a few minutes and they were gone in the blink of an eye. “That’s the tenth ship I’ve counted that’s come close and then left like that.” Chel motioned to the viewscreen in question as Maelinn approached holding a tray with a full pitcher full of some alien concoction and glasses ready to be filled.
