“It’s a blood stone.” Lexx grinned as Chel took it, careful not to brush the stone itself. To her surprise, she could hear soft notes emitting from it. It was warm and vibrated with the sound it was making. The sound was unlike anything Chel had ever heard. No earthly instrument could possibly recreate it. “That’s your personal song, composed from your DNA. The song will change depending on your mood.” Lexx explained further. Chel blinked. For a moment, Lexx wondered if she liked it or if he’d done something wrong. A delighted smile spread across Chel’s face, easing Lexx’s worry. “Wow! What does your song sound like?” It had taken a moment for what Lexx was telling her to sink in. She held the necklace up to him, curious to see how it would change for someone else. “That one is yours.” Lexx backed away. Chel got the indication that he didn’t want to touch it. “It can’t be used by anyone else.” “I don’t have any,…” Chel started quickly, realizing that she had no way to pay for it. Something like this wouldn’t be free. Why had Lexx,… “It’s yours.” Lexx interrupted her thoughts, looking mildly embarrassed. “I’m taking care of it.”
