“Lexx,…” Chel blinked at the jewel. It swirled hypnotically, still singing softly.
“I’m buying it for you,” he averted his eyes. This wasn’t something he did often and now it was making him uncomfortable. He had little experience in the art of gift giving and now it was awkward. “Just like I said. It’s yours.” Lexx’s words came out halting and uneven.
There was silence. Lexx could hear his heart racing.
“Thank you!!” Chel jumped at Lexx, giving him a quick hug of thanks, which immediately calmed him. So, gifts could get you attention like this? He would have to remember that for future reference.

…wow, that really is very little gift giving experience… I always hug someone after they give me a gift… well unless it’s like the free sample people at Costco or the mall that’d just make me look crazy

Silly Lexx, gifts are always met with hugs. That’s the natural order of things.
