"I want you to know me." Lexx leaned toward Chel, turning his head aside as though he were about to kiss her. "You're the only one I couldn't keep out. You're so different. You're the only one."
"Lexx,… I-" Chel reluctantly summoned up a couple of words. Her mind and heart were busily engaging each other in a very painful battle for supremacy.
They didn't have to.
Chel's heart suddenly lept into her throat as Lexx's visage shattered into golden stars and she was now staring into a snarling, fanged face brimmed with golden curls.
"RAUGH!!" Riley snarled, eyes wide as he leapt at Chel. He had come from nowhere and was strangely dressed in blue and gold armor. Chel didn't have time to fully realize who it was, just that someone was flying at her. She shrieked and reacted in a way that Riley hadn't fully expected.
