The form of a massive ship filled the view window as though it had appeared from the empty space surrounding it. Black metal shielding covered the ship in a seamless spread that stretched back thousands of feet. Large luminous circles adorned the edge nearest them, casting a blue glow over the black metal and making the shape discernable. It was a familiar triangle, which Vic had written down in many reports and had seen thousands of eyewitness drawings of. There were stacks of boxes containing the containing folders, but Vic had never seen any real evidence of them himself. A chill went up his back. For a simple reason, even though he was in a ship full of aliens, seeing this ship was actually frightening. It confirmed every horrible report he had ever read associated with them.

  1. Ten bucks says Vic’s got a massive file on the owners of that style of space ship back on Earth.

And probably a few “reliable eyewitnesses” who’ve got fuzzy memories, among other things.

    1. +like! :}

  2. *Cue the Space Odyssey: 2001 theme?*

    1. Nah, the dimensions are wrong.

    2. Wait… This isn’t Devil’s Tower, Wyoming! -starts humming a seven note tune-

  3. Ah, the “Teasers” Ford Prefect hitched a ride with…you know, they go to planets where no one has made contact, land in front of some poor sucker nobody’s going to believe, and strut up and down in front of them making “Beep! Beep!” noises…

  4. My first two thoughts were a B-117 (stealth bomber, I hope that’s the right number for it) and an Interdictor cruiser (Star Wars books). I hope it’s neither. Also I hope that’s where Chel’s dad’s mind went with that look yesterday. 😉

    1. I think you’re thinking of either the F-117 stealth fighter or the B-2 stealth bomber. Any way you look at this wedge, it’s either trouble or an interruption.

  5. O.O BIG ship! Hope its freindly!

    1. if its not friendly this comic is going to be over very quickly

      1. That made me smile.

    2. Transmission from alien ship:
We are the BIG. You will be intimidated. Resistance is useless.

      1. Haha who knew extraterrestrials used babelfish?

  6. I love the way the pillars and the lights on the ship tie the scene together. It’s as if it goes with the decor, while being very large and alien.

Also, it’s great to see what gave Vic the expression from the previous comic.

  7. “HOLY SHIP!!!” is what would be going through my mind at that moment

  8. Ooooh, do you think that ship belongs to the race that created the nanites? The ones that might be able to save Lexx?

    1. That’s where I have my money.

  9. Holy hell thats a big ship.

  10. Man, it’s a shame that text wasn’t there when the comic went up. It would’ve put the next few weeks of strips in a whole different light if we’d known that Vic had reason to dread them instead of just being a bid paranoid and suspicious.

  11. We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

  12. This might be my favorite strip in the comic, with a perfect accompanying post. I love the blending of ufo lore to Alien Dice’s larger continuity.
