“I’m not a problem!” Riane yelled at the lights. They darted back to her and around, but did nothing and not far away, the second stowaway was hiding. He was hiding as well as he could and sensing that he was not going to be hidden much longer. The lights said nothing more to Riane, but suddenly sped ahead to a new target. The bad code pressed himself firmly against the pillar, but the lights suddenly appeared on either side of him and he knew he was in trouble. “No! No! No!” He shrieked and then sprung away from the pillar, running as fast he could, screaming for the few steps he managed to get. The lights converged on him and Riane watched in complete shock as the code burst into a shower of white lights that quickly fizzled and vanished, leaving only the original two orbs. He was gone. She was certain of it and there was an immediate change in the feeling of Lexx’s mind beyond the fragmented landscape the lights had made. Riane continued to stare, mouth open in awe as the lights darted ahead, finishing their work without another word to her.

  1. Bad Code go poof! No more dark thoughts for our dearest Shira Lexx!

  2. Bad Code gone? That was quick. And easy.

But then, it was the intended target.

Now will the Echo meet the same fate? Looks like the Greys might have some control/say in who/what is destroyed and what stays.

So while they might not zap her away she might still be at risk when they reformat/reboot. I’m not sure if she meets the ‘we will ensure you remain’ status or they stick to the ‘if she stays she stays, if she ends up going away she goes away’ mind set.

She still might get a pass because she has done no harm and she has as much of a grudge against the ADC as the Greys do and has been helping Lexx the best she can to thwart them. I hope she does.

    1. or she is/becomes ‘the price you pay’.

      1. She’s not wrong in haunting him as she pointed out he *did* kill her. She could be driving him insane. Lucky for him she’s more proactive in leaving her mark.

        1. As I recall, Riane was grateful when she was killed, as it freed her from Alien Dice.

Plus, Riane’s Death Cry helped keep the Bad Code in check, so she’s been helping keep Lexx sane.

I’m pretty sure she’ll make it through this and just be a helpful memory of someone that Lexx helped in a roundabout way.

  3. Yay! Bye-bye Bad Code!

  4. No … that was too easy, and Syke is too good a twisting the tale for us for it to be *that* easy.
There’s going to be a boom. I just know it.

  5. And a problem cleared up!

    1. What an ignominious end for such a pain in Lexx’ mind.

I really think the Bad Code deserved that. No great last stand, only a pop and a cloud of glitter, sparkles and inexplicable cuteness.

      1. Wow!

It certainly states how advanced the Greys are. No fight, no big discussion, no trying to weasel out of deletion and blame it all on her instead.

        Just pop!

        1. The imp runs around Lexxs memory tree….

          POP goes the weasel!

  6. Oh My God, They Killed Kenny!

(and to me, that looked more like the memory echo than the bad code)

    1. My mistake. I was too quick looking at the last panel and assumed the reverse angle. I did not catch the shirt color of the person viewing the action. It just goes to show that in a conflict situation, never wear a red shirt.

  7. Unless of course that was Lexx and they blew it and now you end up with Echo in charge of Lexx’s Body — which would of course not be good for Chel.

  8. I was actually a little concerned that the Bad code might have tried to blame everything on her.

Though it looks like Greys are just awesome at locating a problem like him. Though I guess it didn’t help his cause running away like that. You can see his realization about who their after on his face in that second panel.

    This page was awesome!

  9. Huh.

I think I just figured it out. The red pillar area is actually Lexx’ mind, so we won’t actually see Lexx in this mind scape, because the mind scape IS Lexx!

  10. Looks like the FOF targeting system worked quite well.

Somehow I doubt that the damage that code caused can be reversed so easily, but at least it can’t do anything more.

  11. Bad code ERASED! Quick, easy, and simple. Heh heh heh I like that 🙂

  12. Now who thinks that Bad Code might know what they’re trying to do, and is crafty enough to make himself look like Brain Echo, and Brain Echo to look like him, so instead of taking care of the glitch, they got rid of the goo side?

    1. Don’t talk like that!

It might get written into the story!

*drinks one down in memory of bad code aquaintances PAST*

  13. Of course we all know the Bad Code has a secret, elaborate plan in which he takes a minute part of himself, tucks it away deep in Lexx’s consciousness, and slowly regenerates over time. 😀

  14. red shirts alwas die first
    booya startrek refrence

  15. Why does part of me think they got the wrong Lexx? I mean, they most likely didn’t, but still…

This is almost too good to be true…

  16. ok i’m catching up and i just have to do this for this comic *kistens to “another one bites the dust”* i’m glad they didn’t both get axed
