“What are you doing, Riley?!” Lexx choked out, not really wanting to know what Riley was up to. Never before had Riley spoken disdainfully toward him. Chel looked over her shoulder to see Riley holding a very terrified looking Lexx. Maenae was at Chel’s side, digging her fingers into Chel’s arm.
“It’s my turn, Lexx.” Riley growled, tilting his head against Lexx’s. “You knew you would have to fight me.”
“… no …” Lexx shivered, “Riley,… please. Don’t do this to me.”
“It’s a family thing you would not understand.” Riley whispered harshly.
“Riley!!” Chel screamed, jumping to her feet. “Stop it! Lexx is still recovering from his last fight! I thought you said you were his friend!”
Riley laughed at Chel, resting his chin on Lexx’s shoulder to peer at her. “What are you going to do, Human?” Chel looked hopelessly at Lexx. She really couldn’t do anything.

Interesting…Riley really knows how to push some of those buttons.
By becoming a threat to Lexx’ life, he is forced to reconsider what’s most important…as is Chell. Maybe she is ‘just a human’…but humans have proven more than once, that they are very resourceful when backed into a corner.
