Meanwhile, in Riley’s ship docked on the dark side of the moon, Victor and Keith were getting a good view of the moon and stars from one of the ship’s primary observation decks. In every room they went, any crew members present immediately left. That annoyed Vic. He wanted to get a good look at all of the aliens.
“You get a good view from here,” Victor stated. Then he turned to Riley and waved a hand in Maenae’s general direction. “She should stay here.” Vic muttered.
“Yes, she should.” Riley shrugged. “But she wants to spend more time with her father.”
“Maenae is Lexx’s adopted daughter, Dad.” Chel took advantage of the conversation to explain.
“Oh.” Victor’s eyebrows raised in understanding.
“I want to go back!” Maenae suddenly called out from across the room. She pressed one hand up against the glass. “When can we go back?”

Well, what did you EXPECT, Victor? I mean, you’re not exactly a scientist, but I’m pretty sure you know some basics of genealogy. One of them stating: Completely different species cannot mate successfully. And even if they’re close enough to each other to do so, the product will LOOK akin to the parents. *Ahem*…of course everyone here knew that.

That’s why Maelinn is sterile. If two species can breed, like a horse and a donkey or a lion and a tiger, the offspring is always sterile.

Actually… Tigers and Lions produce Ligers or Tigrons, which CAN be bred back into tigers OR lions.

It’s possible she’s learned to keep the ‘outer’ thumb close to her fingers, like a pinkie, in order to fit in better?
