Chel wearily turned away to leave.  She half expected to walk straight into an actual man in black with a little flashy thing that would make all of this a dream.
There was no one there.  Sirius trotted after her, keeping low to the ground.  He had similar fears, although his were more focused on existence in a tiny cage.
"That wasn't so bad."  Sirius whispered as they reached the hallway.
"No."  Chel agreed softly.  "But it's far from over."  She looked down at the dragon.  He didn't seem as big as before.  She could see the long silky fur along his jaw quivering.  "And I will do everything I can for you, Sirius.  All of you."  Chel placed her hand on Sirius' head.
"Thank you."  He whispered.  Sirius could not hold back a deep sense of dread that was washing over him.  His future was resting on her shoulders and it had not dawned on him that Chel was so young.  It was different with Lexx.  He was an adult by galactic standards and he was treated as such.  Chel on the other hand; she did not have a lot of influence.
Sirius' mind was already working out the different avenues he would have to travel if things did not turn out in a positive way.  Obviously, appearing dumber than he actually was would be a very viable choice.  Not being caught displaying his powers and abilities would likely be another one.  Sirius determined then that he would try to stay out of play as much as possible.  Let the other dice do the battling.  He hated it anyway.

"We need to move on this quickly.  Some of those … creatures … have begun damaging crops in other countries and are causing a lot of problems."  Back in the living room, the unknown man was already on a cell phone.
"We've also received a large number of reports of strange creatures killing and eating people."  The woman sighed.  She rubbed her temples thoughtfully, pacing a few steps toward Vic and Mel.

  1. Yeaaaah… If you kill the dice, Lexx might be forced to start over. I think he might murder all of you if you do that.
