Lexx nodded, resuming his gaze out the window.  He did not know what to say.  Riley was giving him a hurt look.   They had talked about this before.  Riley's parents had felt it best that Riley not know where Lexx was, because they could not do anything about it.  They had tried and been met by wall after wall.  This was how it was.  Once a child was signed over to the ADC as their guardian, the only way they could be released was if the ADC signed them over to someone else and that never occurred. Riley had recognized Lexx immediately when they were showing off the starting players for the ADC several years back.  Since then, he'd made it his goal to do what his parents had been incapable of doing.  Get Lexx out.  As the baby of a well to do family, he had few worries, other than entertaining himself. Most might shrug their shoulders and go on with their life, but not Riley.  Traditions and family meant more to the young littan than most, because he had grown up with a little brother for a short time… and then he was taken from him.  He never forgot and had promised himself and Lexx nightly that he would find him and they would be together again.  The fact that Lexx had been picked up by the ADC only deepened the personal cause. Riley had to look out for his little brother,… even if they weren't the same race.  He still felt guilty that he had not known earlier.  That it had taken him so long to find Lexx and reach out to him.  Lexx had remembered him, but was cautious.  He was outwardly different.  Shielded.  Slowly, Riley had worked his way in, with Lexx and with Zaile. "Can we eat soon?" Lexx glanced down at the slight tug on his pants. Maenae was standing there, looking up at him. "I'm hungry!" "Sure," grinned Riley, answering for Lexx. He knelt to grab Maenae around the waist, pushing his guilt away. "No need to let dinner get cold. Lexx, why don't you see if Chel wants to join us." "I don't want to bother her if she's asleep," Lexx shook his head, and started toward the bedroom. He didn't want to awaken her. She would probably be upset if he did and he had felt that she was weary.
