Half an hour later, Chel was still wide awake, unable to stop the flood of thoughts swimming through her head. One particular memory kept playing over and over in her head. The conversation she had with Lexx before he fought Trasik. She could clearly see him with an odd look in his eyes, saying, “I promise you, Chel, when this battle is over, it will be over for good.” Chel thought over the words and the way he said them. It will be over for good. Chel winced and pulled her covers tighter over her. Lexx did not plan to walk away from that battle. Chel stared at the ceiling. He came to die.

  1. I’ll admit I was never a big fan of Lexx, but this strip almost made me cry. 🙁

  2. Hello, my name is Shira Lexx. You killed my father. I am prepared to die.

Wait. That doesn’t sound right. Did I get the quote wrong? Inconceivable!

And when I think of it, Trasik didn’t have six fingers on her right hand.

But then again Lexx did just come back from being MOSTLY dead, probably the result of an ADC plot. So now he will need to go to their headquarters and try to expose them. Well, have fun storming the castle!

    1. Very close – but Inigo isn’t saying “I am prepared to die,” he’s telling Count Regan “Prepare to die.”

  3. I don’t think it’d work. I would take a miracle.

  4. Considering what Lexx went through, I’d think Chel would be hard pressed to find a man that would put up with the same just to save her.

Maybe her parents would do the same, but that sure is a whole life of pain and humiliation that they would have to beat to be considered at that level. But they are Chel’s parents.

  5. “It will be over for good. Chel winced and pulled her covers tighter over her. Lexx did not plan to walk away from that battle. Chel stared at the ceiling. He came to die.” For her. But I think that part has not set in yet.
