Zaile scowled and looked as though he had just taken a bite from a very bitter fruit. The corner of his mouth twitched and it appeared he was going to say something, then stopped. Zaile fought back the urge to tell Riley where he could go, but he needed him.
"She's in her quarters. You're fully reinstated to your position - and Riley …" Zaile spoke slowly.
"Yes?" Riley glared at the screen in front of him.
"Thank you," stated Zaile sincerely. "Kane would have done more harm than could have been repaired. We have to keep Lexx focused on his goals." He paused, then added, "We need to keep as many things out of his way as possible."
"… what a mess I created …" Riley murmured to himself, wishing that he could admit his mistakes to someone. It was really eating at him that someone would find out and his extracurricular activities would be made known to Zaile.
