“Amazing.” Keith remembered to breathe.
“I look good, don’t I?!” Fly gave a little bounce toward Keith, shaking out his mane and flipping his tail back and forth excitedly. His tail was considerably shorter and Keith noted, seemed vertically flat.
Drift hooted his congratulations, settling down into the grass where he was standing.
“Yeah!” Keith agreed, still amazed at what he had just seen. The previous conversation with Claudia was completely forgotten, replaced by his fascination with the dice. Fly bounced up to Keith, his gait somewhat like a ferret.

I really like the look of the sin flaps. Or are they now wings? I suppose we’ll have to wait to find out.
The skin collected by the sides looks rather similar in texture to a cloak that has been tossed over someone’s shoulder, but rather folded up against Fly’s body. It also looks as though it would spread out from the body to create the jump-suit like flaps of skin of a flying squirrel were he to extend all of his limbs.
The main question I have is why it is folded up the way it is. Are there muscles pulling tendons in close to fold it? Did fly tuck the skin flap up over his rear end to cause it to lay that way? Is elasticity of the skin involved?
Was this new form/angle done from a study of a flying squirrel, or is it just something from your fertile imagination?

But he’s not carry-sized anymore. Bummer.

Ohmygosh he’s beautiful. o_o I love how there are still the flying-squirrel aspects of it hidden in a completely new animal. I take it the flat tail is made to be all aerodynamic…And even if he looks a little more dog-like in stature, that face is still all Fly. x3

Very nice looking new form, but old habits die hard. I can see the scene where they finally reunite with Chel, and in a fit of excitement Fly swoops in to land in his traditional place on her shoulder. Whumph! And as she lays there on the ground, “Um, sorry about that”.
