Chel glanced away, continuing to speak. "I feel a little guilty about that. They would be worried." She didn't feel a need to explain her comment.
Lexx nodded and offered a faint smile. It bothered him that Chel had referred to him as 'an alien'. It was as bad as when he referred to her simply as 'human'. And for a moment, he realized how he made her feel when he had spoken that word so coldly. She didn't mean it the same way, but it still stung.
'It must be nice.' Lexx began walking again, thinking about how nice it would be if someone worried about him. He then moved on to the question that had been lingering in his mind. "You are welcome on my ship anytime, Chel. Am I welcome if I go to your home?"
For Lexx, it was a question that was a step closer to other questions and important things he needed to tell Chel. He wanted to be comfortable when he broached the subject about the relay. That was the most important thing he would have to tell Chel and working his way toward that would be a long hard road. Once he told her about the relay, he could show her everything.
"Of course!" Chel laughed as though it was a silly question. Then she added in warning. "But only as long as my parents aren't there,…"
