“It doesn’t matter.”  Lexx shrugged off the uneasiness.  “You make her leave.  You’re not using me … I will not cooperate.”  Lexx turned away from Victor with only one thought running through his mind, I will not anger Chel on purpose. “You and Chel come from two drastically different worlds.”  Victor kept talking.  “When this ‘game’ is over what will you have to offer her?  From my understanding, you will be homeless and jobless on a world you can’t hide in.”  Lexx scowled at the floor.  He didn’t need anyone reminding him about his situation, even if it wasn’t entirely true, at least he didn’t think it was.  “What are you going to do, Lexx?” “I am educated.”  Lexx turned back to Victor, trying to keep his words even.  “I am willing to learn.  I don’t have to be among any humans … I just want to be left alone.”  Lexx’s voice rose and he spoke faster, “I am not useless!”

  1. Love love LOVE the shading in the second panel! Poor Lexx. How’s dad-in-law doing at hammering at all your insecurities?

  2. Besides, why does Lexx have to offer Chel anything, besides his love and support? As he said, he’s educated and willing to learn. He could find something to do after the game, I can think of jobs that he could do on earth without interacting with people face to face. Maybe Chel is going to be the breadwinner and Lexx will stay home and raise the children, Vic, what about that?

  3. Real smooth vic.
    Emotionally manipulating a traumatised slave.
I’d ask what your wife ever saw in you, but given you most likely met her on the job l, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were both cut from the same cloth.
