Chel was led into a small room with a couch and a chair and little else.  She noticed that there were lines in the walls and floors on the side that did not have any furniture, likely hiding furniture like it was often recessed in Lexx’s ship to make better use of space.  Chel was directed to sit on the couch and make herself comfortable while the old rishan vanished down a narrow hallway into what Chel assumed was a kitchen.  She could hear familiar sounds of cabinets being opened and water running.  The two boys had followed as far as the little waiting room, but had not entered.  They went off down another hallway leaving Chel along with Caillem.  The otterbudgies were left in the entranceway as they were too rambunctious to be allowed inside. “Are you hungry?  Thirsty?”  The old rishan slowly entered the room carrying a tray in one hand with three glasses filled with some orange colored liquid and crutch in the other. “No, Ma’am.”  Chel felt guilty watching her hobble to the table next to a large comfortable chair sitting across from the couch.  She set the tray down on a table next to it. “You look very pale, have a drink at the least.”  The old rishan gestured to the cups.  Chel stared at them unsure she really wanted to drink anything else and not wanting to offend by not taking a cup.  She sat in indecision until the old rishan sensed her conflict.  “Did Caillem tell you who we are, Chel?” “No.”  Chel glanced at Caillem and the old Rishan. “Caillem.”  The old rishan glared at her. “Chel, this is Lexx’s grandmother.”  Caillem piped up as she was asked the question. “And”

  1. Go figure, the plot thickens. What secrets will be revealed this time around?

  2. “You look pale”? How would a Rishan know that?

    1. She looks pale BECAUSE she is a human.

  3. What I’m saying is, how would a Rishan know when a human is paler than usual?

    1. Um, Granny is a Rishan. The standard Rishan skin tone is grey. Think about that for a minute.

      1. looks more blue to me

  4. *willing to bet that he actually has a lot of family in there*

  5. Grandma: rocking out the protocol.

  6. To bad those spy cameras are not watching her right now Lex could get his freedom and the dice game would be exposed real fast.

  7. @Eboreg- Perhaps they know her normal coloring from the channel?

  8. Well… That explain a few things. Although it looks like we’re going to have to wait to get a bigger bit of exposition.

  9. Um, what are those blue and gray tubes in the first panel? I can’t decide if they’re cups or buildings. Also YAY UPDATE! 😀

    1. Coffee/tea/refreshment equivelant?

  10. And?….
Sound like things are about to get VERY interesting real fast.

  11. Bet the kids are Lex’s siblings or cousins…

  12. If you look at panel one in closeup, the three choices are a vessel with a pestle, a chalice from the palace and a flagon with a dragon.

If you don’t get that one, look up “The Court Jester” with Danny Kaye.

  13. @ OBJuan – brilliant! Love that movie!
