"I wonder what they would do ..." Chel's mind was nowhere near the conversation as she bit into a slice of hot pizza. She daydreamed. Her parents, normally very rational human beings, being introduced to something completely out of the ordinary, that of Lexx.
"Hi!" Lexx was smiling. Chel liked to imagine that he would act properly if she were ever to introduce him to her parents. It didn't matter that she had never seen him act 'nice' to someone new, she wanted to see him ... normal.
"I'm getting my gun." The daydream took a sudden and not so positive turn on its own. Chel saw her parents vanish and slapped her hand against her forehead.
"I need my tools to get samples!" Not even her mother would take this well. Poor Lexx. Chel pictured his ears drooping and eyes widening in shock.
It wasn't going to be a fun experience, was it?

Spikes
Ah the facepalm. Saying more than words ever could since the dawn of time.
Refugnic
Well, how would YOU react, if your daughter brought a boy home that completely defies all reason? I believe most parents would already have problems, if the boy has a different skin colour…without being racist.
People are afraid of the unknown, and a glaring difference like that rallies that instinct.
