Down on the ground, all eyes were upon the battle about to engage above. Saign shielded her eyes to keep her hair from flying in front of them and obscuring her view. Claudia nervously chewed on her perfectly manicured nails, worriedly watching the sky.
"How do you justify keeping them?" Claudia whined to Saign, unable to fathom the answer to the question. She was genuinely concerned about Lexx. She really hated this variation of the game and was shaking with anxiety. "You're a Rishan! Your people are the most exploited in this horrible game!"
"Does my set look abused or upset with being here?" Saign replied, her eyes still on the sky. "They enjoy fighting. Ask them."
"We have a good life," smiled Koanei. "No complaints."
"They don't have a choice!" Claudia glanced at Koanei and added quickly in a completely different tone, "No offense to you, Koanei!" Then she went on, "Why would they say they don't want to fight when you literally own them?! Lexx does not enjoy the game,… can't you see he's trying to win so he doesn't have to play at all?!"
"Nonsense," Saign completely brushed Claudia's concerns aside, "What else is he going to do with his life? This is his occupation. His job."

Updates will occur again on January 2nd! *I'm taking a break and well.. readership always slumps off for this two weeks until January 2nd, and also... next week, we resume M-F updates with an extra update at some point in there at least until February! Kim has her next surgery in February, so I don't know what's going to happen at that point, but I will TRY to keep updating as much as possible.
I also spent the time I would've been working on updates this last weekend on finishing the graphic novel.. only a FEWS more pages left, hurray!

Ahhhh. Finally something worthwhile in Claudia to like. She at least understands Lexx’s perspective in not wanting to play.
