“Okay,” Lexx nodded in agreement, his tone turning more serious. “But if I have to leave the earth? Will you come with me?”
“I can’t and you know I can’t.” Chel replied without hesitation. It was obvious to Lexx that she had already gone over this scenario. “You can’t protect me.”
Lexx wasn’t prepared for the punch to his gut as the words came out. They were true, but did they really have to be said? No, he could not protect her and he knew it. The very fact they had just arrived back from Chel being kidnapped was proof of that. He had not been able to prevent her from being taken and it was possible he wouldn’t be able to prevent it in the future either if someone wanted to grab Chel and run. He couldn’t do anything in his current situation.
The truth, was not something Lexx wanted to think about right now. He just wanted to hear her say she’s go with him, even if the situation never arose.

I think Chel is letting to much BS from her parents, and a couple of other characters in this comic who need to keep their nose out of their relationship. It’s making Chel unfairly doubt Lex who I think can protect her.

I don’t think Lexx should have to protect Chel. If Chel is going to stay with Lexx, she’s going to have to learn to protect herself. Why should Lexx have to intercept every threat that comes her way? I’m not saying she should become a dice(die?), but she didn’t do that shabbily against the last mimic with the spear. Life with Lexx would be a huge risk… And if Chel can’t accept that, she should take a hike. Stop yanking the poor boy’s chain already…

As things stand, the ADC is a constant threat to all that Lexx holds dear.
Even his adopted child has been an interest of theirs. Also Lexx has so much to catch up on to grow a bit. His mind might be fixed, but all those who play the game like him have only had the game.
It’s sad, but if earth becomes threatening to Lexx and if the ADC is not properly taken care of, then Chel and Lexx would be dangerous to one another if Lexx stayed or Chel went with him.

Come on, Chel. You were kidnapped fro Earth — from your OWN LIVINGROOM. What makes you think that staying on Earth is safer. The fact is, you will be safer in Riley’s ship, or on his family estate. Or, for that matter, on Lexx’s shiny new star ship.
Even if you stay away from Lexx, you are still useful as a hostage.
