Lexx stepped out of his gate in a slow stride. His bare feet sank into sand, cool and grainy beneath his feet. Humid sea air struck Lexx’s face and a breeze welcomed him back to his island. The portal vanished behind him and Lexx was left walking in moonlight toward the low waves that were breaking on the sandy shore.
There was not any technology here. There was only the gentle sounds of water, wind, and rustling from the trees further up the beach. Best of all, there were not any walls.
