Riley's set of rooms seemed miles away to Lexx.  Each step was becoming heavier and heavier. Finally, Riley stopped in front of a particularly ornamented pillars. They were white and gilded with gold vines and beautiful birds in silver and gold etched all up and down it. Their wings were encrusted with diamonds. Rubies, emeralds and other precious stones served as their eyes. The designs spread wildly across the eight foot ivory colored doors to Riley's rooms. "Riley,"  Riley spoke his name and the doors slid open with a beautiful light tinkling melody. 'What's wrong, Lexx?' The Littan ventured across the relay as he stepped past the doors. 'Don't turn on the lights.'  Well, at least he responded this time. Riley didn't bother with the lights.  'I can't take this.' Lexx followed Riley inside, grateful for the darkness that would offer some privacy from being watched by the cameras. They were enabled with night vision, but that came at an additional cost that most watchers didn't pay. 'I'm going to break and I don't want anyone seeing it.' 'Oh,…  I understand now.'  Riley felt the full brunt of Lexx's emotions. 'I don't want anyone to hear me or see me,'  There was a choking sensation in Lexx's voice over the relay as he faded into existence within Riley's thoughts.  'I just need to talk to you.  Is that okay, Riley?  I just really need to get something off my mind.' 'I'm always here for you, Lexx.  Always.'  Riley offered supportively.  It was rare when Lexx was overwhelmed by the game enough to come to Riley.  When he did, it was exhausting.  Lexx held his emotions well, even from himself.  Riley really felt sorry for him.

  1. I may be mistaken, but I believe ‘nightvision’ isn’t omnipotent either. It can amplify light by switching to a different spectrum, but assuming there’s a room of absolute darkness, without a single source of light, would nightvision even work there?

    1. Infrared thermal imaging coupled with undoubtedly advanced graphic imaging could substitute imagery in pitch darkness, however the only way to prevent ANY light is in a vacuum-sealed area and then there’d be no air to breathe…
