“Some of those plans don’t include Lexx staying on Earth.” Maelinn walked up behind Chel and finished what she was saying in a gentle tone, obviously not meaning it as some threat passed on, but something that Chel should know.
Chel immediately stopped walking. A cold chill rippled down her back as the words sunk in. Lexx could leave, she knew it, but there was a difference between him leaving because he wanted to and being forced to leave by someone else. That was not what Lexx wanted.

Maelinn is speaking in vagaries. Suppose the plans that have Lexx leave are furthered by Chel going to this meeting?
Why now? Why do plans need to be made during the Gauntlet if they aren’t intended to affect the outcome of the Gauntlet? There was time to plan Lexx’ first few matchups. Why didn’t these “people” make their plans then?
This smells like yesterdays fish catch left out on the docks all day and all night.
