Stealth snarled, slamming her paw down hard on the plate just as Fly leapt upward.  The plate slid taking Stealth's paw with it.  She attempted to brace with her other paw, but the cabinet was slippery.  Fly jumped off the cabinet, kinking his tail up behind him to make sure he didn't lose any of it.  Stealth's chin banged on the cabinet hard enough to make her ears ring. Drift fluttered back and out of the way, hoping that Stealth was just after Fly.  The squirrel was already through the kitchen door by the time Stealth regained her bearings and bounded after him.  Drift sighed and ran to the edge of the cabinet.  It was a long jump. The pudgy gryphon leaned over, spreading his small wings just a little bit.  He didn't want to jump.  He took a quick breath and half jumped, half fell off the counter.  Drift flapped his wings erratically and landed in a puffed up pile of feathers on the floor, stunned.  He whimpered, then picked himself up and wobbled after Stealth and Fly.
