"It's going to be okay, Stealth,"  Chel kept on petting Stealth. Dr. Hobbes walked slowly up to Stealth with a syringe in hand. The cat probably wouldn't even notice. Most animals really didn't so much as flinch. The vet took a deep breath, then leaned over to inject Stealth in her right hip. That was all it took for Stealth to suddenly revert to dice form. It wasn't the actual stick of the needle,… but the chemical composition of the anesthetic. The moment it hit her bloodstream it had an adverse reaction. It was like poison and had the same effect. There was too much pain to deal with and Stealth suddenly felt afraid for her life. The black dice bounced on the table and landed in a pool of blood.  Chel blinked.  Dr. Hobbes had jumped away from the table as the cat vanished and almost jabbed herself with the needle.  Quickly, she capped the syringe and set it aside. "I tried to tell you, Chel!"  Suddenly, Fly made his appearance, hopping up on the table and chattering in an urgent tone, "Stealth will be fine!" "..." Dr. Hobbes stared at the talking squirrel… the cube on the table within the vague imprint of a large animal and then at Chel. "Chel?" The girl had a look of horror on her face. Chel swallowed hard, searching quickly for the right words to say.
