Day 24 Part 2

“Yes, but once they are on Earth, are they still as superior?”  Keith stepped closer to Vic and lowered his voice. “Obviously they can be injured during their battles, but staking out every single mysterious creature sighting is just not something we have the resources for.”  Vic confided in Keith.  “Even working with other agencies, the time, language barriers and manpower needed is just not available.” “So when we are back on Earth, we need to stay near them?”  Keith sighed and slid his hands into the pockets of the coat he was wearing.  He felt a little guilty about it.  Damian had given it to him and he liked that alien.   He also liked the coat. “Yes.”  Vic nodded.  “I don’t like this sort of mission and we’re not going to continue this discussion now.  It’s not necessary as long as they are cooperating.”

  1. FIRST! also who cooperating with who take another look and gues

  2. 0.o What language BARRIER?! As I recall English (or a really close form) is like the universal standard of alien languages.

    1. I thought they were talking about human language barriers because he said ‘working with other organizations’, but maybe I’m wrong. This page did confuse me a bit. lol 🙂

  3. Erm, perhaps I’m reading this incorrectly,

but as constructed, the end sentence of panel 1 balloon 2 seems to indicate that there is no language barrier.

    the format seems to be
list which includes item: “language barriers”
    status of list: unavailable.

I am attempting to aid in an early fix if necessary, not to poke fun.
If I sound like a jerk, hopefully the fact that I am tired and about to fall into bed will help ameliorate concerns over my lack of social acumen, and that I will be forgiven for any slip up.

  4. Seems to me that unavailable was referring to the manpower issue. Language barrier would be non-English-speaking agents based on/native to Earth.

  5. Ok, alien translation device. Problem solved for everybody.

  6. Redlion:
Yes, obviously the general thrust was that there were barriers to action, and those issues were being listed.

The end meaning is also fairly readily evident. It’s just that the problems were listed in there/not there form, and one of the problems seems to have it’s polarity switched. 😛
