Riley was quick to grab the knife and remove it, which seemed to bring some relief to Lexx, but he was still shaking. Blood streamed over his shoulder from the fresh wound until Lexx finally managed to clamp his left hand over it. Chel reached out to help, noticing that Lexx’s movements were barely controlled.
Idiot! Idiot! Riley glanced at the blade in his hand and then down at Lexx. He already had an idea of what had been on the blade. A few droplets of green glimmered in the spatters of Lexx’s blood on the grass. Why did I just stand there?!
Riley stood up, waving the blade in their direction as he spoke. “Damian, Claudia, get Chel and Lexx bck to the ship. I’ll handle this.” Damian nodded and immediately went to Lexx’s side. Claudia nodded and walked to Chel, wanting to avoid getting any blood on her expensive dress.

Indeed! The good news is that he should be recovering from this soon.
The bad news is that Riley’s about to get chewed out by his parents. Badly. Maybe Claudia and Damian should prep a bed in the infirmary so that Riley’s poor ears can be treated once it’s done.

There will be no smiles today from anyone on Riley’s family estate today.
But at least it looks like Lexx will recover and his pain might have been caused by his nanites scrounging for raw materials to make repairs.
Telling Chel’s dad and mom what happened is going to be awkward, not to mention any conversation Riley has with his parents.

Hmm. I think Trasik is actually dead. Also from Riley’s reaction the poison isn’t too bad. I just hope Riley doesn’t try to take Chel away from Lexx while he copes. She would not like that.

Chel will probably be more understanding than that. Well, after she’s told that Lexx needs to rest and that she’s really only a thought away thanks to the relay.

Well, Riley comes across as someone who has been expecting something like this to happen to Trasik for some time. Not necessarily this way, or this time, but some way some time.
When you’ve been expecting a major disaster for a long time, when the other shoe finally does drop, there is a certain feeling of relief. Not joy or happiness, because it is a disaster and it is here and it is now, and at least you know what it is finally, and can stop running all the scenarios through your head, and wondering is every call is the Big One, and just do what you’ve got to do to deal with it.

Now comes the weird questions: what are the rules of the game vis a vis someone killing a player…does this mean that Chel has to become a player, with Lexx as one of her Dice, since she was the one who took her out?

I just noticed something. Whether he realizes it or not, Riley is pointing at Damian and Claudia with Trasik’s dagger.
You can see how unexpected/unnerving it is on Damian’s face.

Trask was looking to owning Lexx by defeating him (she arguably did). Chel defeated Trask, therefor she owns all of Trask’s dice as well as Lexx.

I hate to point this out, but I think you forgot to draw the handle in Riley’s hand for the knife in the last panel here 😉
His fingers and thumb don’t quite line up with it right either!
