“What is going to happen to Lexx?” Chel spoke up in an attempt to redirect the topic back to Lexx. Kade closed his eyes and whispered something to Riley. Riley glanced at Chel with a deeply concerned look on his face. Chel stared at Riley, waiting for an answer. Each silent second made her heart feel heavier with what the answer was going to be. “He’s going to die.” Riley breathed out the statement reluctantly.

I expect that they are lying to her to try and make her ‘go away’, and stop messing with their lives.. or at least, for her own sake, so she doesn’t get tied into this thing more than she has already.

That wouldn’t be a bad idea but what about all the cameras that always follow him? Not to mention I don’t think Riley in particular would be so apprehensive there if it was part of a great plan to get Lexx out of the game. At the very least, a faked death that would be believable to the ADC and viewers of the game, would probably carry a significant amount of risk where Lexx actually could die or be permanently injured.

Guys! Calm! He’s going to die. They didn’t say when, or how, or why. If he can catch dice fast enough (and with Terran security assisting, this could go much faster), he might at least die free, and sue ADC for wrongful everything, and maybe we’ll get some drama about whether Chel should marry him/have a kid with the whole judgment of Damocles hanging over his head. It could be good!
And hey, we might get an 11th hour reprieve based on a him rolling a level or whatever happens when he wins for the third time (for example, if his nanites are killing him due to being reprogrammed by the “poison,” the win might deactivate them all and remove them, if only because it’s bad to introduce persons of mass destruction into a society).

Yeah, so I JUST NOW realized that Riley, on the previous page, was about to say Trasik got away with MURDER (the Littan master dice that Mauki had). I feel kinda slow now.
Also, I agree with whoever suggested that Lexx’s death would be a deception. To pull it off though, they probably decided that Chel would have to truly believe it.
