Day 25 Part 1 Page 7

“More advance than you?” Vic stared at Kade incredulously. He wasn’t sure if that was a good or a bad thing, considering the aliens he had encountered thus far. “The nanites were designed by another race that does not frequent our galaxy.” Kade began to explain. “The core technology was stolen by the ADC and abused. We were gifted a less broad nanite technology for use in healing, which is how the ADC learned it existed. The race that gave us this gift did not approve and no longer have contact with any of us.” Kade frowned sadly. “While some of us would use given technology for good, there are always those who abuse it.” Vic nodded slowly, “We’re not asking for any technology. We just want to know who you are.” “That would not be of any use to you.” Kade shook his head and turned his attention to following his son.

  1. Well, that’s an interesting twist!

  2. Well the abilities granted to the dice thanks in part of the nanites always seems advanced. In fact it is the most advanced tech I think we’ve seen to date

I wonder how they’ll react when they see Lexx? I’d guess they wouldn’t be to pleased about how Lexx was being used abused and poisoned by it. That is if they actually cared about the beings and creatures being used because of it.

  3. Dear Lord, they managed to alienate an intergalactic civilization?

This is an interesting twist. They don’t actually understand the nanites — not really. They’re all just playing with grown-up’s toys.

    1. Nice way of putting it.

  4. And so… the potential for humans becoming OP by leapfrogging this current civ is introduced.

  5. Aw man, you guys took all the good comments. 😛

  6. I get the feeling Maenae (and her invisible associates) just got much more important.

    1. Actually that is an interesting thought.

Maenae’s few flash backs make you think that she might have been saved by a fairly advanced or powerful race and her ability to shapeshift we partially saw gives the impression of abilities like the dice or the Mimics.

The glowing invisible associates kind of make me think about the vapors. The text makes it sounds like she was thrown from her ship.

They very possibly be important to the story at this point. But what parts do they really play?

    2. I never even thought of that!! But it does seem likely, if not downright probable.

  7. The text expands greatly the reasoning behind Victor’s group: They seek the knowledge of who has been visiting instead of the technology.. VERY interesting twist Tiff.

    1. Hm… I just assumed he was lying about that, then again I have no faith in the human race NOT being greedy and wanting technology they shouldn’t have.

      1. Actually, humans are well on their way to nanomachines. It’s really just an advanced version of biochemistry and microelectronics. It’s quite possible for technology to be developed by one species that another wouldn’t even have the right mindset to think of. There’s also the funny irony that if we did make nanomachines, they’d not be capable of what the aliens would want (living dice games, etc.). The intergalactic aliens were effectively giving them nanotechnology that IS capable of such things. It’s like the difference between semiconductor lasers and atom bombs. Both are very advanced uses of atomic theory, but one is a whole lot more dangerous to be giving out to people not understanding the implications!

Remember the submarines on Seaquest? And the aliens that didn’t have oceans?

      2. Also, in practical terms, political knowledge is a lot more valuable than technology.
