“Dad, what happens if Lexx loses?” Riley ventured curiously.
“He won’t.” Kade shook his head slowly. “Do not mention that the Gauntlet has been called to Lexx. Let him enjoy today, because tomorrow is going to be hell.” Kade finished with a sigh and a stern look at his son. Riley nodded in agreement. He wouldn’t say anything. Lexx would likely go into panic mode the moment he found out and be in the training room again. Something that wasn’t likely to be any real help to him.
It was better to let Lexx rest and think that nothing had changed until the announcement was officially made.

The bastard is gambling with another man’s life and fails to even have the good graces to be concerned about the nearly impossible odds.

I’m pretty sure he is quite concerned, but it won’t help anything for him to show anything other than confidence in Lexx’s abilities.

Lexx was told that this was coming. Best to enjoy what time he has after all that has happened up to this point and prepare later.
Lexx’s training for fighting Travisk and the Grey’s Upgrades and repairs have probably given all the physical preparations he needed. Now he needs the emotional fortifications, rest is good for that.

And not just that: Lexx wouldn’t rest properly, be WAAAY over anxious, and just generally wear himself out even before it starts. :/

The Grey Upgrades and Lexx’ will to be free are likely giving Kade his confidence in Lexx.
That, and Kade might have found a way to rig who Lexx will be facing.

Yeah. Rigged by way of inserting his choices in opponents. We know he can pull enough strings to insert one opponent already – one who didn’t even register for the match – so tell me: How many people, do you think, can he gather together that hate the current form of the game enough to knowingly sabotage it, but are still equipped to play it?
