“The Gauntlet has been issued.” Kade delivered the news without ceremony. Maelinn’s face paled and she leaned closer to Riley. “I am aware.” Riley admitted. “Your name is on the list.” Kade caught Riley offguard. “I didn’t register.” Riley blinked several times in surprise. He had not wanted to participate in the Gauntlet. There were others who had stepped up for challenge and it was not something he wanted to be known for participating in. Kade turned aside, giving his son a sideways look, “Riley, my son, I happen to have more of a hand in things than you realized.” Riley nodded slowly, wondering what else his father had planned that he was unaware of. Thinking about his father as being sneaky or scheming was a difficult thing to do.

    Well even if he has to duel Lex, nothing says he has to try to WIN…

      But if Riley does win, it will be a half a step from Lexx winning The Gauntlet himself. And Riley would be perfectly happy to let his brother by way of time of birth go free if he won, so it’s actually the same.

      Lexx probably wouldn’t like it though.

        Yeah, I’ve been wondering about that for a while, maybe if Tiff sees this she can clear it up? What’re the rules regarding players purposefully freeing dice? Can it be done?

    Well, if anything, this will give us a chance to see some of Riley’s dice.

    Ok, at first I thought ADC Manipulation.

    However depending on WHEN Riley fights Lexx, there will be a major recovery period right there as Riley can drag out the fight long enough for Lexx to recover some stamina as well as earn a long enough time for the recovery between matches.

      I think he is. Didn’t he join a previous battle himself, as a dice? But he does not have the same type of contract, he was in it for thrills. (ADC didn’t raise him)

    I have a feeling Riley takes after his father (whether he realizes it or not), and Trasik takes after their mother…

    This is good, in a way. He can take it easy and have a nice gentle spar with Lexx while his worst injuries heal. Then, Riley can throw the fight.
