Day 26 Part 4 Pg 10

Chel blinked, immediately putting two and two together and figuring out what had happened.  She turned to Keith in a hurry, “Keith, we better warn the other scientists not to do that!”  She couldn’t fathom why they had done it in the first place.  That just didn’t seem like something you would do to a sentient creature. “Right!” Keith nodded with a grimace, waving a hand in front of his face to try to ward back the smell.  “Someone could lose a hand!” Keith immediately turned and ran to Stealth’s examination room, leaving Chel to tend to Swiftpaw. Chel gulped the tainted air, then knelt down to run her fingers through Swiftpaw’s cheek ruff and lift his head.  “Accidents happen, Swiftpaw.”  She stated soothingly, wiping her hand over her watering eye and trying to keep her nose covered as much as possible.

  1. Yeah, warning the others is important 🙂

Especially the larger dice might cause much destruction and harm…

PS: Happy birthday to Kim 😀

  2. For those of you thinking “we’re gonna need a lot of tomato juice to get rid of the smell” that is actually an urban legend. The recommended remedy is a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. It oxidizes the sulfur containing stinky molecules into other less-offending forms. It will bleach out any clothing it is used on however.

    1. – “B-but my fur pattern…!”

      1. There are also more effective shampoos available through vet’s too. My sister had a dog that got sprayed more than six times over the course of one year. Needless to say; after the second round mom opted for the big dog multi-use sized bottle and kept it under the kitchen sink. I don’t recall if it whitened her fur or not though.

  3. Chel: Accidents happen, Swiftpaw. …Sometimes to people who deserve them.

    Hazmat scientist: I heard that!

Chel: Well, keep listening. *ahem* Swiftpaw, would you let me slide this thermometer under your tongue?

    Swiftpaw: …I’ll try.

Chel: There… gently does it… now, close your mouth, carefully… and there we go! (pets Swiftpaw approvingly, nods to self smugly)

    1. They did tell them to ask… I don’t see them asking. Why don’t they ever listen?

      1. Because whenever they asked him anything, he either froze up and didn’t say anything, or he said it so softly they couldn’t hear. It wasn’t *all* their fault.

  4. So wait … Swift’s base form is like a skunk? Neat!

  5. can someone please give a link to the radio drama? i’ve been trying to find it but i can’t.

    1. It’s not currently up. 🙁 We were working out a way to distribute CDs, but I’m not sure where that went again. When I’m done with the rest of the site things, I’ll get to it. Right now, I have a lot of stuff I need to get done.
