Outside the studio, the agents in charge of their dialogue were sitting in a comfortable stretch SUV fit for movie stars with a large entourage. There were three such vehicles, but only one had anyone in it. Two agents were watching the interview on a nice flat screen tv in the back of one of the SUVs. The third, Agent Ritter, was sitting at a laptop, speaking into a mic to feed Korbaen lines.
The agent responsible for Kane had given up after the first interview. He had fed her lines and she had sat there in complete silence with a deer in the headlights look. They let her run with that and she was getting better at simply repeating things that had been said in previous interviews by Korbaen when it seemed appropriate. Most of the time, she said nothing.
“He’s going to end up becoming a real movie start if he keeps this up.” One of the agents commented on the very animated interview as the crowd in the background could be heard breaking into uproarious laughter.
“I can’t help but like him myself,” nodded the second agent. It was a sentiment shared by the majority of agents. They had always wanted to meet aliens and meeting one who was as charismatic as Korbaen had fulfilled their dreams of what they wanted aliens to be like. Kane was not comfortable around any of the humans and her constant on guard interactions made her difficult to talk to casually.
“Yeah, now shut up so I don’t lose track of the conversation.” Agent Ritter snapped at the pair. This was all serious business to him and he was going to do the best job he could at feeding appropriate lines. After all, this would be the closest he would get to a talk show.

I would assume the mike is on “push to talk” not an open mike.

If they did become real movie stars, at least they’d have jobs! Then they can get green cards!

Somehow I get the feeling the agency would prefer to kill any sequels involving those two, at least until they need to cover up another media outbreak.

Finally! I found this, like, a week or so ago, and I just caught up. It’s been wonderful.

Aren’t most electronic surveillance vehicles usually disguised as old panel trucks with something like ACME Plumbing written on the side?
I think the MIB technical branch needs to keep a little lower profile. All they are missing are the wheels with the spinning hubcaps. Unless they are undercover as ‘Movie Star entourage party vehicle’, then never mind.
Tiff
they are undercover as ‘Movie Star entourage party vehicle’. 😀 And Korbaen loves all this.

Considering everyone knows that FBI, NSA, and MIBs in general typically use either unmarked solid-color vans or fake maintenance vehicles, the limo is actually stealthier: who would suspect it?

How did Kane ever make a living as a con artist if she keeps freezing in front of a crowd like this?
