Day 26 Part 4 Pg 8

“Oh.”  Lexx drug his feet a few steps, then stopped walking, not sure if their meeting had been good or bad. “Most of my specimens do not require introductions.”  Mel turned around to face Lexx.  His face was mostly blank, but as with all things involving Chel, there were breaks in Lexx’s composure and his thoughts showed enough for Mel to see them.  “Cheer up.”  She smiled, wanting him more at ease.  “You’re in a better place now.” Lexx smiled.  At least he tried to.  Now that he knew, he could hear Chel in Mel’s voice and see her in that smile.  It did make him feel a little better.  Not as good as he would feel if he could be near Chel, whom he trusted entirely, but better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you grammar people attack, I really am not sure if it's drug or dragged. :D  I think it's dragged, but it looks so odd in the sentence.  Then again, trying to spell lots of words I know how to spell looks odd after time passes. My laptop is being repaired and should be back after July 9th. :(  There were supposed to be five updates this week, but I'm stretching the two pages to cover the time I won't have my laptop. - Tiff

  1. …up until she finds out that he is dating her daughter. X_x¡

    1. Wouldn’t she already know that? I’m sure that Vic has already briefed her on this…rather important detail.

Which is why I believe, her examination of his psyche will be even more thorough than the one of his race.

This may be his hardest battle yet.

    2. If I remember correctly, she’s the one who first suggested that Chel might be in love with Lexx. So she probably already knows. I think she’s enjoying messing with his head a little.

  2. Oh she’ll be nice to you Lexx. It’s her bosses that should worry you.

  3. “You’re in a better place now”? Uh, oh. My mom once told me that about my pet goldfish. Run Lexx!!

    1. Yeah, I don’t trust this (yet), either. But I love how she makes him smile tentatively at least.

  4. You’re in a better place? Uh oh, sounds like she’s gonna kill him.

  5. Inquisitive Raven

On the grammar thing, “dragged” is grammatically correct. “Drug” is characteristic of certain rural American dialects.

  6. Lex : do I not look…cheered to you?
